Cate Blanchett was spotted on the red carpet attending the 'Screen Worlds' exhibition opening at Federation Square in Melbourne wearing a colourful crochet dress. She has even been nicknamed 'Cate Blanket' after this daring move and there has been a lot of media around this dress. I'm glad because it has sparked trends for crochet fashion and it seems every clothing store has their own version of the previously old-style material. There are some good, bad and ugly styles. I am not a fan of the bold colours when it comes to crochet but I have seen some beautiful white and cream dresses in this style.

Nude, Nude, Nude!
This seasons hot colour for party dresses is nude. It can be a cream, beige or pale pink but whatever shade, it has to be short, fitted and sexy. Top it off with some nude heels and understated clutch and you've got the celebrity look. So this got me thinking, what celebrity rocks the nude frock the best? I would have to say Kim Kardashian. She has been spotted in many a nude dress and she manages to pull of the look perfectly.

2010 Nail Polish Trends
Gone are the days of matte black, gothic-looking nail polish. The hot colours right now are dark tones such as Violet, Navy and Maroon. The look is rock-chick while still being sophisticated and shiny on a well-manicured nail. I am loving the new Loreal Resist & Shine Titanium polish in the Black Gloss range. There are five different new colours in the Black Gloss range. I am wearing Black Gloss # 737 and love how it is so close to black, but has a hint of maroon to it. This new Loreal range is shiny and has a easy-grip brush applicator under the lid. The colour is vibrant and it is meant to be chip free, but I noticed a few little chips a couple days I applied it. Never the less, a fantastic new range that you should get your hands on.
Fall Fashion Week Hairstyles
The New York Fall Fashion Week was all about the big bed-hair styles. There were soft, matte waves, quiffs and the slept-in-messy hair look. This look is simple and easy to achieve. You do need a good volume-enhancing product and some texture spray.
Volume has always been my hair's enemy and I am forever teasing, blow drying and adding hairspray to achieve the 'big hair' look. I have even contemplated buying bumpits to enhance my thin, limp hair. I came across PPS Root Lift which does the trick. The top 3 Hair Volumising Mousses are: 1. TreSemme Thermal Creations, 2. Redken Full Frame 07 and 3. Alberto V05 Extreme Style Weightless Volumising Mousse.
Spring 2010 Fashion
Stylish neutrals & pale pink dresses are all the rage right now. This seasons fashion is definitely for the girly-girls and I am loving these fresh styles at the moment. These beautiful dresses look stunning with a beige high heel. A neutral tone heel also elongates the leg which looks great when wearing a mini dress. Minimal jewellery needs to be worn as it is the pale frock that is the statement. However, if you are looking for a little piece of jewellery, choose white pearls and pale flowers like Forever New's Flower Trim Pearl Bracelet or Diva has a flirty floral collection that will match well. For the makeup, fresh face and a nude or pale pink gloss works well. Forever New are rocking the new fashion dresses the best like this Petal Prom Dress and Kiara Crochet Trim Platforms. It is THE perfect dress for the races this season. Match it with a feather trim fascinator and you're ready to go!
Floral prints are also out this season, showing up on maxi dresses and fun cotton playsuits and 1950's retro pin-up style dresses. Think Katy Perry and Lily Allen's style. These dresses are fun and flirty and come in a range of different colours of bold floral prints. The less expensive stores like Cotton On and Jay Jays are selling this style at the moment for around $40 AU.
